Port Medway is easy to miss, but hard to forget.
Tucked just off Exit 17A — between Bridgewater and Liverpool — Port Medway invites you to slow down and stay curious. One minute you’re driving through the trees, the next you’re in a harbour village town where a typical day could involve anything from a drag brunch at the post office to a tomato harvest in the community garden.
There’s a country music museum in a church, a shop where the plants are as thoughtfully chosen as the gifts, and a books-and-records store offering everything from Truman Capote to Taylor Swift. And at the centre of it all — a waterfront that is home to both a working wharf and seasonal art festivals.
Around every corner, someone’s growing something, fixing something, or dreaming something into being. The stories here go back centuries. And new ones are being written every day. (Photo by Reg Gibson)
