Come as you are.
This is a small town with a busy calendar — where drop-ins turn into traditions, and the best nights often start with someone saying, “You should stop by.”
These are the kinds of gatherings where you might meet someone’s hilarious aunt, learn how to identify chanterelles, or leave with a new plan to make the world better. Port Medway is the kind of place where strangers quickly become friends, collaborators, and co-conspirators.
Whether you’re new in town or just passing through, Port Medway is a place where you can show up as yourself — and feel like you belong.

Pub Nights at the Fire Hall
Port Medway knows how to throw a party. These monthly fire hall fundraisers bring neighbours and newcomers together over live music, good food, cold drinks, and warm conversation. The tables fill fast and so does the dance floor.
Keep an eye on the Port Medway Fire Department’s Facebook page for dates and times.

History Show
An evolving exhibit of shipwrecks, safe harbours, and stories passed down through generations. Running from July 26 to August 4 at Port Medway Lighthouse Park and Seely Hall, with a smaller version available year-round upstairs at Seely Hall.
Don’t miss the Grand Opening on July 26 at 1pm, featuring live music by Warren Dobson & Friends and free refreshments.

Pop Up Market at the Sea Port
One Sunday each summer, the lawn outside Sea Port Gifts transforms into a cheerful maze of tents and tables. More than 25 vendors bring everything from silver jewelry to lobster rope. There is mingling, there is shopping, there’s Mama Pita’s Food Truck — and it happens rain or shine.
This year’s market will be Sunday August 24th, from 10-4.

Port Medway Community Garden
At the end of the path behind Rosefinch Mercantile & Tea Room, the community garden is a place to plant, learn, and share. No experience or equipment needed, just bring your hands and your heart. All ages and abilities welcome, this space is specifically designed for the intersection of accessibility and food security.
Weekly meetups happen from spring until fall, every Saturday from 10am to 12pm.

Crafternoons at Rosefinch Mercantile
Every week, a rotating cast of locals and visitors gather around the big table with projects in various states of chaos. Someone’s always happy to show you how to cast on, thread a needle, or help decipher some weird dream you had. There’s encouragement, there’s story-swapping, and there’s usually someone accidentally hot-gluing something to the table. No sign-up, no pressure, and Rosefinch Mercantile even sells craft kits if you are worrying about arriving empty-handed.
Every Sunday from 2pm to 5pm.

Games Night
Once a month, Rosefinch Mercantile & Tea Room hosts a raucous games night. Board games? We’ve got ’em. Mario Kart Wii? You bet. Also, we are a fully accessible space where everyone can join in the fun. Come hang out, make some new friends, and enjoy playing together. Bring yourself, bring a friend, or bring your favourite game. Tea and coffee and sweets available for purchase.
The last Thursday of every month, from 7pm to 9pm.

The Readers Festival
Each summer, this quiet coastal village becomes an unlikely literary stage. Canadian writers — from household names to rising stars — come to read, reflect, and connect inside the historic Old Meeting House, where pews face inward and the sea isn’t far off. It’s intimate, memorable, and unlike any other festival in the country.Get details and buy tickets on the Readers Festival website.
